This is why Sileather is better for the environment than other coated fabrics

The environment. It's been a hot topic for years now, and it's gaining traction everyday with new campaigns like #trashtag, news articles, and increased media coverage. There are big ideas, but we can do the little things that can really add up to make a big difference too.

We can start with these small things such as driving less, reducing carbon emissions, reducing the use of disposable plastic tableware, using environmental products and so on.

The choice of using environment-friendly fabric such as Sileather is our industry can do to help the environment. Sileather is one of the best environment-friendly coated fabrics:

Organic silicon leather is a new kind of environmental protection leather, using the power of silicone. Our silicone is combined with substrates such as ultra-fine fibers and non-woven fabrics, processed and prepared, and is then suitable for a variety of industrial applications. Sileather is made of organic silicone coated and bonded to various substrates utilizing a solvent free technology. We belong to the 21st century with our development in the new materials industry.

Due to its environmental and health safety features, Sileather has always been regarded as a trusted green product. Sileather has been widely used in baby pacifiers, food applications, and medical devices, all of which reflect the safety and environmental characteristics of silicone products. Sileather is also used in hotel, medical, household, 3C, automobile, children's products, and other major industries.

Compared with traditional leather, Sileather has the advantage in hydrolysis resistance (basically water damage), low VOCs, and no odors. In the case of long-term use or placement, PU/PVC and other synthetic leathers will continuously release residual solvents and plasticizers, which is very harmful to human health via the air or touch.

Differences between Sileather and PU, PVC and genuine leather:

Real leather: It can be burnt without the release harmful gases, but a large number of aniline dyes, chromium salts and other chemical reagents are used in the process of genuine leather processing. During the combustion process, there will be harmful irritant gases such as nitrogen release compounds (nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide), sulfur dioxide and so on, Real leather is easy to crack while Sileather will always remain soft and supple.

PU faux leather: Burning PU fabrics will produce hydrogen cyanide, carbon monoxide, ammonia, nitrogen compounds (nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, etc.) as well as other harmful and irritating plastic gases.

PVC faux leather: The combustion and production processes will produce dioxins and hydrogen chloride. Dioxins and hydrogen chloride are highly toxic substances that can cause cancer and other conditions and produce a pungent plastic smell (main odor comes from solvent, finishing agent, fatliquoring agent, plasticizer and mildew prevention agent, etc.).

Silicone leather: No harmful gas release, clean burning process and no odors.

Sileather will continue to be leader in the movement for more environmentally conscious and eco-friendly products.
