Sileather® Marine silicone coated fabrics are tough and durable! We have designed our marine fabrics to stand up to the harsh elements of the sea, lakes, and rivers.
Sileather® Marine is engineered for high durability with QUV resistance (1500 hours), salt spray resistance (1000 hours), stain resistance, cold crack resistance, and hydrolysis resistance. Silicone is not affected by hydrolysis or water damage, which can be an issue with polyurethane based fabrics.
Sileather® Marine has been tested for cytotoxicity and skin irritation using FDA GLP procedures. This means that sitting on our fabrics for extended amounts of time in your swimsuit will not cause irritation.
Sileather fabrics, a PVC and PU free material, do not contain contain plasticizers, a known food for pink stain bacteria.
Advantages and features
We use non-solvent and plasticizer-free techniques allowing Sileather® to have ultra-low VOCs. This makes Sileather great for below-deck applications and for small enclosed areas. There's no smell or harsh fumes that will come off the fabric. We are eco-friendly and have passed several environmental standards including RoHS, REACH, and California Prop 65.
